Offcuts Recycled Jacket
Jungles Jungles Recycle Projects.
A jacket and pants combination, care of our master craftspeople in India. Using various found fabrics from the cutting room floor which would have otherwise been discarded, small offcuts in varying shapes and colour are sewn together to create a new fabric from which the garment is created.
This is recycling in its purest form.
Because of the often odd shapes of garment panels, there is always some left over waste after a roll of fabric has been cut. Usually this would be sent to a cotton recycler, and while it would still be recycled, it takes a lot of energy, chemicals and time to get a fibre back into a useable fabric. We are bypassing this by minimizing the waste material.
We are able to construct the whole garment made from unused second hand fabrics, instead of making new fabrics.
