Lunar 2021 Parade Canceled

Typically, with Lunar New, Chinatown has decorations up, everyone's bustling through the stores to prepare for the festivities. This year, it's drastically different--no decorations, not too much bustling. With COVID and the rise of hate crimes against the Asian Community across the country, everyone's been keeping a low profile and on high alert.

@harryleong44 from the @philadelphiasuns has announced that due to COVID and to avoid large crowds, they're cancelling the Lion Dance and the Lunar New Year parades. For those of you who don't know, Harry Leong is probably the nicest, selfless person I've met. A true leader to his community--building the Chinatown Community with the Philadelphia Suns! Hopefully, with vaccinations rolling out and everyone maintaining social distance, things may slowly get back to normal again.

Until then, support Chinatown! Support the @philadeiasuns! Check in with your families, friends, and especially the elders! Happy Lunar New Year! We wish you ALL GOOD HEALTH, GOOD FORTUNE, and HAPPINESS.
